Receipt of Orders and Delivery

We aim to deliver all orders within 2 working days of receipt, unless you request a specific later delivery date at the time of purchase.   Any requested delivery date must be at least 3 working days after the date the order is placed and must be between Monday and Friday.  We do not deliver at weekends or on bank holidays.

We will send you a confirmation email, to the email address you supply, confirming the content of your order and the total cost, including delivery prior to despatch.

Deliveries are made by courier, to the address you specify for delivery at the time you place the order, between Monday and Friday.  We cannot be held responsible for errors in address details.

When delivery is completed, responsibility for loss, breakage and damage passes to you or the recipient of the item.  Ownership of items purchased does not pass to you until payment is received by us in full.

The courier cannot deliver to an address where there is no-one to sign and acknowledge receipt of delivery.  We therefore recommend you supply an address where you are confident someone will be available (e.g. a work address).  If the initial delivery attempt is unsuccessful, the courier will attempt to redeliver the next working day.  If the second delivery attempt is unsuccessful, the courier company will hold the item at their depot for your collection for a period of three days.  If the item is not collected within three days, it will be returned to us (at a cost to us) and we will inform the purchaser. The purchaser may then request re-delivery for which an additional delivery & admin charge will apply. Any perishable items will need to be purchased again if desired. Alternatively, the purchaser may request a refund. The refund amount will be subject to the deduction of our costs plus the cost of any perishables.

If you order a number of items for delivery to the same address, they may be despatched separately and we cannot guarantee delivery on the same day.
We make every effort to despatch items on time. If the items are not delivered within the time period we specify please contact us.

General Information

For the purposes of this website and all associated literature, the term ‘hamper’ is defined as a collection of food and/or non-food items packaged in a container such as a box or carton, or as described on the website, for each specific product.

We only sell items to adults (i.e. those aged 18 or over).  If you are under 18, you may use this website only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

Colours, Specifications and Dimensions of Products

We have made every effort to display the colours, specifications and dimensions of items on the website as accurately as possible. The colours you see will depend on the resolution of your monitor.  We cannot guarantee that your monitor’s display of any colour will accurately reflect the colour of the item delivered.  Slight variations in colour or dimension may occur.  Weights, dimensions and capacities stated are approximate only.

Alcoholic Products and Products Containing Nuts

The Nascot Olive Company is licensed for the sale of alcohol.  Some of the items available for purchase from this website contain intoxicating liquor. When you place an order for any item containing alcohol using this website, you confirm that you are aged 18 or over and that the item is for delivery to a person aged 18 or over.

We regret we cannot guarantee that any items contained in our hampers and gift boxes do not contain nuts and/or traces of nuts.

Perishable Goods

Some of the products advertised for sale on this website contain perishable items and items with a rapid expiry date.   Hampers and boxes containing such items will be clearly marked as such and responsibility for refrigeration of perishable components lies with the recipient. Smoked fish, meat and pate products need to be consumed within approximately 7 days of receipt, unless frozen before the specified use by date.   Your statutory right to withdraw purchases within the seven working day “cooling-off” period does not apply to these items.

Availability of Items and Substitution

All goods and vintages of wine are subject to availability.  If, due to unforseen circumstances, a specified product is unavailable, we reserve the right to substitute the item with an alternative of similar or greater value than the item it replaces.

The Contract Between Us

When you place an order to purchase items using our website this is an offer by you to us to purchase those items.  We will confirm receipt of your order by sending you an email summarizing the details of your order (Order Confirmation email). We accept your order only when we send an e-mail confirming that we have despatched the items in your order (Despatch Confirmation email).

The contract between us is formed at the point we send the Despatch Confirmation email in respect of those items mentioned in the Despatch Confirmation email. If your order contained a number of items and the Despatch Confirmation email mentions only some of them, those items which have yet to be despatched to you do not form part of that contract.

The price of goods shall be the price displayed on the website or in our brochure and are inclusive of any VAT that may be payable.  A number of products are zero rated for VAT and therefore, the VAT content of the Hampers and Gift Boxes will vary. Full VAT receipts/invoices will be issued for corporate sales and to those who specifically submit a request. This can be done by simply entering your request in the 'Customer Comments' box in the on-line shop. All prices are quoted in UK pounds sterling and payment must be made in full at the time of ordering.

Although we try to ensure that all prices on the website are accurate, errors may occur.  If we discover an error in the price of items you have ordered, we will contact you as soon as possible.  You will have the option of either reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it.  If we are unable to contact you, we will treat your order in respect of the incorrectly priced item as cancelled. We reserve the right to update prices displayed on the website from time to time.

Corporate Sales

Corporate customers requiring goods on account should contact us by telephone or email (sales@nascotoliveco.co.uk) to discuss account arrangements and your prices. We will be happy offer full account facilities after an initial period of trading between us. In order to allow relations to develop between both accounts departments, early orders will be processed adopting pro-forma invoice procedures.

You may pay for the items which you order online by supplying your credit/debit card details on the secure online PayPal system. This system allows an alternative payment method to be select, where payment is made direct from your bank account. This may be preferrable to those who wish avoid using a credit/debit card. We regret that we cannot accept cheques, gift vouchers or cash as payment online and we do not offer credit facilities.

When you place your order, our system automatically asks your card issuer for authorisation for this amount.  If we get a valid authorisation, your card issuer will hold this value expecting a charge from us.  Receipt of your credit card details and debit of payments does not constitute our acceptance of your order.

Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of data when you send us by email so please do not send us payment information using email.  Unless we are fraudulent or negligent we will not be liable to you for any losses caused as a result of unauthorised access to the personal and transactional information you provide us when placing an order.
